♥♥♥ PONY x MEMEBOX Shine Easy Glam 2 Review ♥♥♥

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

I have been loving Pony's first collaboration with Memebox, her Shine Easy Glam Eyeshadow palette (see my review) ever since I bought it. It's quite pricey but I think it's worth it. After her success, they created a version 2 of the palette. This is actually a long overdue review, so here we go.

Information
Brand: Memebox
Product Name: Pony X Memebox Shine Easy Glam Palette 2
Price: 1300+ pesos

Let's first talk about the packaging. It has a sleek packaging and smaller than the first version. It is quite sturdy and perfect for travelling or if you just want to put it in a make up bag. It comes with a dual applicator, 1 side is a brush and sponge tip on the other. I give the applicator a big two thumbs up because it is actually usable and you can create different looks by just using this applicator alone.

This comes with an all shimmery eyeshadows. Some has chunky glitters and actually causes a bit of fall out. I liked that it does have neutral mixed in with some pop of colors as well as a nice inner corner highlight shade.

The eyeshadows with a star in it are my favorite and I actually use on a daily basis. The lighter shades are not that pigmented. You need 2 to 3 layers for the color to show up on the eyes. Also, shine beige and shine dew are a bit similar. You may notice a bit of difference on the swatches below but on the eyes, it look similar.

Overall, I would recommend the first version of the Shine Easy Glam palette due to the lack of pigmentation of the 2nd version. However, if you want a neutral palette mixed in with some pop of colors and you don't mind shimmery eyeshadows, this is something worth trying.

I bought this from the same online seller where I got the first version. Check out her Facebook page and Ebay store, she has a lot of korean cosmetics at an affordable price.

♠♠♠ MAYBELLINE Color Show Lip Color Review ♠♠♠

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

It's BER-months! Time flies so fast and I will be turning a year older anytime soon. For the past few months I've been using lip tints due to the ever so hot weather. Now we can feel the cold breeze of December, I'm reaching my lipsticks more often that my lip tints.

I've been looking for a cheap matte lipsticks in stores. Since I've been watching more fall related videos on youtube, it makes me like matte looking lips more.

Information
Brand: MAYBELLINE
Product Name: Colorshow Lipsticks
Price: 165 pesos

From left to right: LIVELY VIOLET, MADLY MAGENTA, NUDE MOCHA, MYSTERIOUS MOCHA

Packaging as expected is fragile so you just have to be careful when placing it on your bag because the cap might break easily. If you are familiar with the NYX round lipsticks, you may notice a quite similar texture of the cream lipstick.

The lipstick smells like a sour citrus type of candy (like NERDS!). This is quite a creamy lipstick hence the creamy matte claim so avoid from storing it to direct sunlight, it will melt easily. When I opened NUDE MOCHA (3rd from the left), the actual lipstick was stuck at the cap and I had to place it in the freezer so it would stay in place.

My apologies for my dog's hair photobombing the swatches lol!!!

From left to right
  • Lively Violet - Matte finish, mauve with purple undertone (I use this everyday!)
  • Madly Magenta - Matte finish, purple-pinky that has a bit of shimmers but is not noticeable when worn
  • Nude Mocha - Cream finish, this is not nude at all, this is more pink than nude (it looks peachy on camera)
  • Mysterious Mocha - Matte finish, brownish nude (better used with smoky eyes)
Verdict: I'm in love with this lipstick line for it's price and how it applies on my lips. Since most of these are matte, you may want to apply a lipbalm first. This don't last on the lips but I don't mind reapplying. I highly recommend this and I'm still thinking on buying more colors but I want to restrain myself since I have tons of lip products #lipjunkie.

♪♪♪ DIY BB CUSHION MAKE UP ♪♪♪

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

I've so stressed out lately. New tasks assigned on my current job and finances (which is not new to me). I've been battling out depression for months now and I just want to do something different to help me veer away from my real world problems.

Since I'm on a tight budget for the coming months and probably years, I want to venture out and create some DIY makeups. I have been in love on using my MISSHA cushion makeup but sad to say, I already finished it. The cushion is now dried up. If you are a beauty lover as I am, you know how it feels to finish a product that you absolutely enjoy using. The refills of any cushion makeup can be expensive so I decided to use what I currently have and create a cushion make up of my own.

Things That You Need:

1. a moisturizer that you are currently using
2. base make ups that you have in your vanity. I will mix 2 bb creams to create my perfect shade.

3. Tweezer
4. Q-tip to mix all products
5. A spatula or anything to dispense product from a tub

6. An empty cushion case. I'm not sure if this would be available in stores but I will be using my Missha cushion case and just clean the cushion/sponge inside and voila! you have your own empty cushion case.

As you noticed the sponge has some residue but I can guarantee you that I cleaned it using a dishwashing soap and sanitized it with alcohol to make it brand spanking new.

Just follow these simple steps:

Step 1 and/or 2: Since I will be using 2 BB creams for this, just place the lightest color first then the darker color after. The amount of product would depend on how thick or thin you prefer your cushion to be.

Step 3: Use a Q-tip to mix the BB creams
Step 4: Since my moisturizer comes in a tub, use a spatula to grab the product and at it to the BB mixture.

Step 5 and 6: Test your mixture and add more BB cream or moisturizer to achieve the desired color and moisture.
Step 7: Once happy with the mixture, place the cushion/sponge on the case using a tweezer and gently push the cushion/sponge for the mixture to be absorbed. Once done, just clean the edges with a tissue.

And now YOU ARE DONE!

I like how the cushion make up turned out. I created a customized shade that is perfect for my skin color and by adding the moisturizer, it helps heal my dry patches while applying the cushion make up. Since I used what I already have, it did not falter on buying anything at all.

You can always add sunscreen for added SPF or even liquid highlighter for a luminous finish. What's amazing about doing this is that you have endless possibilities and combinations that you could do that depends on what you want to achieve.

Just a gentle reminder, DO NOT throw away your empty cushion case because you can easily save money by doing this DIY cushion make up.

Hope you like this and I'll definitely do more DIYs in the next posts to come.

♣♣♣ HERA Magic Starter #03 Blooming Moisture Review ♣♣♣

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

It has been a weird weather kind a day. Rain pours and after a few hours, it would be excruciating hot. It is quite unbearable at times and my skin became particularly dry lately. I have to slap on a moisturizer from time to time and I have to be careful not to overdo my make up as it can accentuate the dry patches.

HERA is a Korean mid range line of cosmetics and skincare. It is part of one of the biggest cosmetic/skincare company in Korean, Amore Pacific. Their cosmetic and skin care line caters to young adults and career women.

Information
Brand: HERA
Product Name: Magic Starter
Type: 03 Blooming Moisture
Price: Free

I got this as a free sample from an online store upon purchasing some items. I'm really curious about this brand but unfortunately this is not available here and the price is steep for my budget. There are couple of cosmetic and skincare items that are popular among Korean bloggers like the cushion foundation, toner and a couple of lip products.

This is a base for your foundation. It claims that it deeply moisturizes skin and add a glossy/dewy finish on the skin before applying foundation or BB creams. Texture is just like you regular moisturizer. It is very creamy and it easily blends on the skin. The cream is green but it blends to nothing on the skin.

I noticed that I don't need to apply a moisturizer before applying this cream. It is a bit sticky which I don't mind since I would still apply my foundation on top. It gives a nice dewy finish and it makes my skin look hydrated. My make up does not seem to last if I use this or not.

Overall: If not for it's price, I would definitely purchase the full size of this. It costs around $45-$50 which is not wallet-friendly at all. Hopefully Hera would expand their stores here since a lot of Korean drugstore brands are popping up here and there.

Any primer recommendations?

♦♦♦ POND'S Flawless White BB Cream Review ♦♦♦

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

This review is long overdue. This is the first time I tried a make up from Pond's. Most of what I've used from the brand are their face creams and facial wash. This would be treat since I've been trying a lot of base make ups lately.

Pond's Flawless White BB+ has a special ingredient GenActive™ which regulates the genes that controls the melanin on our skin. It claims that unlike other BB creams, this less sticky and helps control oil all day.

Information
Brand: POND'S
Product Name: Flawless White BB Cream
Color: Light and Beige
Price: 299php (i think?!)

Packaging is very simple and nice. It just comes in a silver tube and it weighs really light which I'm thinking I would get just a little amount of product. This type of packaging also helps the product from being contaminated and you don't need to dip your finger on the cream.

I'm not sure about the shade selection but on the stores, there are only 2 available shades (Light and Beige). Texture is quite mousse-y and not runny. I also noticed that it blends easily on the skin using a brush or your fingers. But in most cases, I use the warmth of my fingers to blend BB creams to avoid it being cakey.

Light color has a pinkish undertone which is a bit too light on my skin if I use it on its own. I prefer using this as a base to my other BB creams. It also has a brightening effect.
Beige color has a neutral undertone which is a bit dark on my skin. I use this in conjunction with the light color and mix it. Coverage is not impressive but on the other hand, this does not feel sticky and very light on the skin.

Overall: I'm not disappointed yet I'm not impressed with this BB cream. This would be preferable for those who doesn't have acne problems and has good skin to begin with. It can use this as a base for my main foundation but not on its own. I would hope they would come up with a wide color range to suit any skin color.

Thoughts?

♥♥♥ MISSHA Fitting Wear Foundation in n. 23 Natural Beige ♥♥♥

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

I've been loving Cushion make up lately because how easy it is to apply for daily use. But I haven't tried a lot of foundation since most of what I have are BB creams. I have that impression that when you use a foundation, you would get that cake-y and unnatural finish on your face which is not the look that I'm aiming for.

Since I want to test different foundations for reviews, I don't want to spend that much on something that I may not like since most of what I've been reviewing is purchased by my own money.

I've been loving the Missha Cushion make up that I reviewed recently and I think the Perfect Cover BB cream is one of the best BB creams in the market so why not try their foundation.

Information
Brand: MISSHA
Product Name: The Style Fitting Wear Foundation SPF 30/PA++
Color: No. 23 Natural Beige
Claims: Wrinkle Care + Whitening + UV Blocking Cosmetic

It comes in a glass container which makes the product seems luxurious. You can actually see the product so you won't have to worry and think about it running out.

It comes with a pump which makes the it hygienic. You don't need to dip your fingers on the product which might contaminate the foundation.

I love how Missha translates the information about the product in English. You would be able to see the ingredients so you would know if you could be allergic to this or not. Also on top of this, Missha indicates that they are against animal testing which hopefully more korean cosmetics would do so.

The actual product is a bit watery and really easy to blend. The pump works perfectly on managing how much product to use. It has slight floral scent which fades after a couple of minutes. If you are uncomfortable on scented foundation, you may want to skip this but I don't really mind the scent.

It does blends well on the skin but I noticed that it would accentuate dry patches. I would suggest moisturizing first before application. The color suits me well despite most Korean face make up tends to be too light on my skin. It has a brightening effect and has a medium coverage. It does evens out my skin tone but it does not cover my acne so you would need a concealer for more coverage. It has a semi-dewy finish which is very popular among Asian brands.

Overall: I would recommend this product for daily use. I liked how it blends on the skin and how it matches perfectly on my skin color. This did not break me out which is not a surprise since my skin is not sensitive at all. But if you are going to an occasion where you need more coverage, I would skip this since it also has SPF which leaves a white cast from flash photography.

Any base make up recommendations from an Asian Brand that you love?

««« ETUDE HOUSE Dear Darling Tint in #1 Berry Red »»»

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

Gosh! We just started the Ber-months and I'm really awed on how time fly really fast. I think I need to start listing down gifts for my family and friends and also create a budget for my Christmas spending so that I won't overspend.

I think I'm about to get over my lip tint craze since I've been seeing a lot of matte lip product reviews all over the internet. And since Halloween is coming (I love Halloween), I prefer wearing deep dark and a bit of purple lipsticks. But regardless of that, I'm still loving the Etude House Dear Darling Tint in #1.

*source: google images
Information
Brand: ETUDE HOUSE
Product Name: Dear Darling Tint
Color: #1 Berry Red
Price: 200-300ish php

As usual, Etude House never disappoint us when it comes to proper packaging. It's in a lip gloss-type of packaging and I love the fact that you can see the product so you would know if you are about to run out. Also, I did not notice any leaking which is perfect to bring all around on your bag.

Consistency wise, it has a jelly texture on the tube but watery once applied on your lips. If you are not a fan of sticky tints, I don't think this would work for you. But for me, it is fine because a bit of stickiness is moisturizing on your lips.

This is not the most long lasting lip tints. It wears off in about 2 hours with a lot of coffee and water drinking activities. I like how you can have a subtle look to more opaque and daring look by just how you apply the tint.

Overall: I would highly recommend this product for those who want to try an inexpensive lip tint. If you are a lip tint hoarder, you may not like this but this is worth a try. I would definitely repurchase this if aI ran out and I'm curious to try the #4 Vampire red color that they have. Hopefully Etude House does not discontinue this.

♣♣♣ MAYBELLINE Color Ink BE-1 REVIEW ♣♣♣

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

I've been always curious on how a cream eyeshadow would look on me and due to my oily eyelids, if it is worth trying. I've seen a lot of hype on the Maybelline Color Tattoo around the YOUTUBE world. When I was just rummaging around the department store, I saw this color ink display.

"Color Ink" is the Asian version of the Color Tattoo's by Maybelline. I'm not sure if all color from the US version line are available in Asia but I only saw one color that I think I would be able to pull off.

Information
Brand: MAYBELLINE
Product Name: Color Ink
Color: BE-1 - Barely Branded
Price: 375php
Claims: 24 hour no smudge and non-smearing formula

I absolutely love the color. It's perfect as an eyeshadow base but it is also perfect on its own. I also noticed that I don't need to use a separate eyeshadow primer for this not to crease. I'm not really sure about the 24-hour claim but this last on my eyes most of the day (say around 9 working hours).

I prefer applying and blending this using my fingers and I like to pair a taupe eyeshadow on the crease. This makes your eyes look awake and put together like you had loads of time placing eye makeup.

Overall: I would definitely repurchase this if necessary but I think this would last me for quite a while. I'm in defense on purchasing other colors since most of the colors available are those bright and more summer-y shades. I highly recommend this and definitely worth trying.

Have you tried a cream eyeshadow?

♪♪♪ INNISFREE Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask REVIEW ♪♪♪

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

Trying out different skincare items are very much an obsession of mine. I never stick to just one routine and I always want to try different things. I'm the type of person who gets bored easily if I do the same thing every single day.

Because of that habit, I've noticed a lot of clogged pores around my nose and above my cheeks. Also, my pores are visible and my face looks dull.

I've had this product for quite a while now. I think it's time to bust it out of my shelf and actually use it for the purpose of helping my skin clogged pore-free.

Information
Brand: Innisfree
Product Name: Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask
Claims: Tighten pores + Remove Sebum + Exfoliates dead skin cells + Offers deep cleansing +                        Enhances skin tone + Provides cooling effects

The Super Volcanic Pore mask is an upgrade from the Jeju Volcanic Pore mask which contains:
  •  Double the amount of Jeju volcanic which helps remove exces sebum
  •  Volcanic capsules which help exfoliates the skin
  •  AHA which gives a gentle chemical peel
  •  Cooling sensation which helps with tightening the pores

Packaging is very unhygienic since it comes in a plastic jar that you need to dip your fingers to get the product. But, Innisfree is promotes recycling so most of their packaging is from recycled items.

Consistency is rather thick and has a gray colour which actually looks like cement. It has a glue-like scent but fades away upon application. I usually use a coin size amount around my nose and thrice the amount for my entire face.

The amount on the jar would last for quite a while and I felt my pores shrinks every time that I use it. My skin felt really soft. I also use it as an overnight treatment if I have an occasional acne. It dries out the next day and speed the healing process.

Overall: I highly recommend this clay mask and I would definitely repurchase this. Unfortunately, Innisfree is not yet available in Manila and you would need to buy this online.

☼☼☼ What's In My Everyday Makeup Bag? ☼☼☼

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

On my daily routine after taking shower, I always think about what I'll use on my face. It is not actually a chore for me but the common dilemma of women is that they always think about what to wear. In my case, I always think about the make up that I will do on my face.

Since that is my daily dilemma, I always make sure that I seperate a pouch for my daily essentials so that I won't spend too much time thinking about what lipstick to use or what bb cream use. And, I never leave my home without it.

This is not something I permantly have in my bag because I constantly change the contents depends on my mood that day, week or month and also if I want something to try or even use up.

1. DAISO BB Face Cream
2. ETUDE HOUSE Dear Darling Tint in #01
3. AVON Ideal Oil Control Pressed Powder in Neutral
4. ETUDE HOUSE Drawing Eyebrow in #01
5. POND'S White Beauty Pearl Cleansing Gel
6. MAYBELLINE Baby Lips in Tangerine Pop
7. Y.E.T. Sweet Punch in Orange Punch
8. ETUDE HOUSE Color Pop Shine Tint Mini in P6
9. ETUDE HOUSE Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in Strawberry Chiffon Cake

You may notice that I don't bring an eyeliner, a mascara or an eyeshadow. Main reason, I rarely touch up my eye make up except for my brows. I'm also a lip junkie that's why I bring minimum of 3 lip products with me on a daily basis. What can I do? I like to have options.

♥♥♥ PONY X MEMEBOX Shine Easy Glam Eyeshadow Palette Review ♥♥♥

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

I adore korean cosmetics and, well, you may have known if you have seen my reviews. Being a korean make up lover, you probably stumbled upon Park Hye Min aka Pony. She is a well-know korean youtuber and blogger that is famous from her online make up tutorials and make up books (PONY Beauty Diary).

When she collaborated with Memebox, I was astounded and itching to buy her eyeshadow palettes. Memebox ships internationally but I'm not that type of person to buy online that would result me paying more at our customs just to get you package. Gladly, I've discovered an online seller that pre-orders korean cosmetics for a reasonable price.

Information
Brand: Memebox
Product Name: Pony X Memebox Shine Easy Glam Palette
Price: 1300+ pesos

The cardboard box is super cute with it's pink and black theme. The actual palette is sturdy and sleek. You can easily get away with this palette when travelling. It comes in this huge mirror which is amazing and 2 applicators that has a brush and sponge at the other end.

I've seen other reviews wherein they say that the applicators are unusable but for me, I tried to use this to apply and blend the eyeshadows and it works perfectly fine. It is not the best but you can get away with it without thinking about using actual make up brush.

Easy Base Matte all over base color in cream
Easy Shadow:  Matte light milk chocolate color
Easy Brown: Matte medium cocoa brown
Easy Charcoal: Matte deep dark grey brown
Shine Rosegold: Shimmery light rose gold
Shine Gold:  Shimmery copper color
Glam Cocoa Shimmery red brown
Glam Espresso: Shimmery cocoa brown with pink

Based on these swatches, the matte shades are not that pigmented which some people might think is a let down of this palette. Actually, I prefer these shadows to be this way because I use these shadows for certain parts of my face not just the eyes.

Easy Base I use it for a nice subtle brow bone highlight and on the tear duct area.
Easy Shadow:  I use it for nose contouring which I heard Pony loves for that reason
Easy Charcoal: I use it on the crease to darken and achieve a subtle smoky eye
Easy Brown: I use it for a subtle transition shade

\

The next 4 shades are quite shimmery and pigmented which is perfect for an all over lid color. What I like about these is that it doesn't have chunky glitters that may result in a lot of fall out.

Shine Rosegold: I use it on my undereye to create that subtle aegyo sal-look
Shine Gold:  I love to use this as my all over the lid
Glam CocoaI also use it all over the lid
Glam Espresso: I use it on the crease and on my outer under eye area

Overall: I highly recommend this palette for those neutral lovers out there. I'm actually enjoying using this palette and I have used it for 2 weeks straight. This is a bit pricey in my opinion but I do not regret having this in my make up stash.

You may purchase this directly on the Memebox website or you may purchase from the online seller below. The seller is so accommodating and she always responds to my queries. I highly recommend that you check out her FB page. She also has an ebay account for on hand items.
