Etude House Play 101 Pencil in 8 and 49 Review

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

I've been on the blogging spree lately. For some unknown reason, I'm inspired to create a couple of post this week. So grab a coffee, sit down, relax and let me tell you about my impression on the Etude House Play 101 pencils.

These were released last year and Pony is the current beauty ambassador for these pencils. It comes with different finishes for certain type of uses. It can be used an eyeshadow, eyeliner, concealer, blush and lip pencil. I only bought 2 (which I usually do to test the product before I buy more).

Play 101 Pencil #8 (concealer)
Play 101 Pencil #48 (eyeliner)

It looks just a typical pencil product but SURPRISE!, it's a twist up pencil which is very convenient because you don't need to buy a separate sharpener. And another thing, it comes with a built in sharpener so that if you want to create a precise application, just sharpen it and it looks brand new.

Texture wise, it is very creamy. You can use the eyeliner as an eyeshadow base just blend it and apply an eyeshadow on top.

#8 - Concealer - great to brighten the under eye area
#49 - Warm brown - great for the waterline

I like using #8 as liner on my waterline and to tight line to create an illusion of fuller lashes. For #49, I actually don't use it a concealer but as an eyeliner to brighten my eyes. This acts like a perk me up for my eyes when I'm tired and did not get enough sleep.

These cost around Php348 each which is reasonable enough. One downside is that this is not waterproof and it smudges on my under eyes. I really have watery eyes so this happens most of the time when I use any eyeliner on my waterline.

Verdict: I might try some of their more colorful pencils (red, pink, burgundy and the likes). I find that these pencils are really fun to play with to create certain looks like Pony does. This line is really unique and I don't see other brands carry these type of pencils. Overall, even though the brown color smudge on me, this is worth a try. They have a lot of colors to choose from and you can use it anywhere on your face. VERY NICE!

What do you think?

☏☏☏ Etude House Look At My Eyes Eyeshadow Review ☏☏☏

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

I currently fell in love with the korean makeup looks that I've been seeing on youtube and blogs. They focus more on gradient lips and very natural makeup look that simply enhances your features. This has been my inspiration on a daily basis to create my office look.

Due to the fact that Etude House had a 20% of sale last January, I did not pass the opportunity to splurge a little bit. I decided to try their eyeshadow and see if it would work on me.

Etude house has a lot of eye products from eyeliner, mascara and eyeshadow. They are not the cheapest in the Philippine market but for a korean brand, this are justifiably cheap.

Their current collection of eyeshadows are called "Look at My Eyes". I bought 2 to try a variety of finishes.

Look at My Eyes Jewel in PP502 (left)
Look at My Eyes Cafe in BR406 (right)
*Apologies. I can't read korean :p

The packaging is adorable as expected from Etude House products. The lighter color is very shimmery. It has tons of glitters and it feels like a pressed pigment. The brown one has a matte finish which is perfect for a natural crease color.

Based on the swatch above the jewel eyeshadow has a light purple color with a lot of shimmers while the cafe eyeshadow has a brownish taupe color.

I use the matte eyeshadow on my crease to add depth and shadow on my eyes while the shimmer one is used all over my lids.

I also added the some of the shimmery eyeshadow on the inner half of my lower lash line to create brightness.

Expect a lot of fall outs from the shimmery eyeshadow. I prefer using my fingers rather than an eyeshadow brush as it prevents the glitters going everywhere. The matte eyeshadow on the other hand is amazing on the crease. I've been using these 2 products for this past month and I always receive a compliment from using these.

Verdict: Overall, I love using these eyeshadows. I love how it smoothly applies on my lids despite the fall outs from the Jewel line. They also blends easily with brush. This also costs around 198 to 298 php but of course I got a 20% discount on these.

❅❅❅ Majolica Majorca Lash King Review ❅❅❅

Oh Hello Blog-o-World!

Finding the best mascara for my straight asian lashes has been hard. Most failed the curl test. All smudged on me. Which is very unusual since most of the mascaras that I've been buying are waterproof.

I don't bother applying a mascara since, well, it does nothing to me. But, of course, as a makeup enthusiast, I felt like trying to find the best one for me.

I've always been curious of this specific makeup brand because of it's cute and utterly girly packaging.     Majolica Majorca is a Japanese makeup brand that is know for their fiber mascaras. It has been available in the Philippines quite a while now. I've been wanting to try their products

Majolica Majorca is a subsidiary brand of Japanese cosmetic brand, Shiseido.
Majolica Majorca was launched by Shiseido in Japan in 2003 as a more affordable self-selection make-up brand for young ‘kawaii’ (meaning ‘cute’ in Japanese) women aged 16-25. Distribution of its products were first extended to Taiwan in 2005; and upon success in these 2 markets, later expanded to Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore in 2009 to compete for a share in the Asian “masstige” market. (courtesy of the internet :p)
First of all, the packaging as expected is really cute.

It has a lot of fibers in it which is excellent on lengthening but for this, it can get all over your eyes. The first time I used this, a couple of the fibers got on my eyes which is very frustrating. But, as I'm using this for a month, I haven't experienced any "fiber on my eyes" which is very relieving.

This is really good at lengthening and volumizing but not much on the curling side. The first application of this can give you amazing curls but as the day goes by, well, it is gone.

By the end of the day, I noticed a bit of smudging on my under-eyes which is actually I expected o nall mascaras but not like having those raccoon eyes.

Verdict: Overall, this is nice mascara to try on. Because of this, I want to try all Majolica Majorca mascaras as it has got me curious if they could be better than the Lash King. This cost around 800php but I got it on sale for around 500-ish php only.
