♣♣♣ HERA Magic Starter #03 Blooming Moisture Review ♣♣♣

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

It has been a weird weather kind a day. Rain pours and after a few hours, it would be excruciating hot. It is quite unbearable at times and my skin became particularly dry lately. I have to slap on a moisturizer from time to time and I have to be careful not to overdo my make up as it can accentuate the dry patches.

HERA is a Korean mid range line of cosmetics and skincare. It is part of one of the biggest cosmetic/skincare company in Korean, Amore Pacific. Their cosmetic and skin care line caters to young adults and career women.

Information
Brand: HERA
Product Name: Magic Starter
Type: 03 Blooming Moisture
Price: Free

I got this as a free sample from an online store upon purchasing some items. I'm really curious about this brand but unfortunately this is not available here and the price is steep for my budget. There are couple of cosmetic and skincare items that are popular among Korean bloggers like the cushion foundation, toner and a couple of lip products.

This is a base for your foundation. It claims that it deeply moisturizes skin and add a glossy/dewy finish on the skin before applying foundation or BB creams. Texture is just like you regular moisturizer. It is very creamy and it easily blends on the skin. The cream is green but it blends to nothing on the skin.

I noticed that I don't need to apply a moisturizer before applying this cream. It is a bit sticky which I don't mind since I would still apply my foundation on top. It gives a nice dewy finish and it makes my skin look hydrated. My make up does not seem to last if I use this or not.

Overall: If not for it's price, I would definitely purchase the full size of this. It costs around $45-$50 which is not wallet-friendly at all. Hopefully Hera would expand their stores here since a lot of Korean drugstore brands are popping up here and there.

Any primer recommendations?

♦♦♦ POND'S Flawless White BB Cream Review ♦♦♦

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

This review is long overdue. This is the first time I tried a make up from Pond's. Most of what I've used from the brand are their face creams and facial wash. This would be treat since I've been trying a lot of base make ups lately.

Pond's Flawless White BB+ has a special ingredient GenActive™ which regulates the genes that controls the melanin on our skin. It claims that unlike other BB creams, this less sticky and helps control oil all day.

Information
Brand: POND'S
Product Name: Flawless White BB Cream
Color: Light and Beige
Price: 299php (i think?!)

Packaging is very simple and nice. It just comes in a silver tube and it weighs really light which I'm thinking I would get just a little amount of product. This type of packaging also helps the product from being contaminated and you don't need to dip your finger on the cream.

I'm not sure about the shade selection but on the stores, there are only 2 available shades (Light and Beige). Texture is quite mousse-y and not runny. I also noticed that it blends easily on the skin using a brush or your fingers. But in most cases, I use the warmth of my fingers to blend BB creams to avoid it being cakey.

Light color has a pinkish undertone which is a bit too light on my skin if I use it on its own. I prefer using this as a base to my other BB creams. It also has a brightening effect.
Beige color has a neutral undertone which is a bit dark on my skin. I use this in conjunction with the light color and mix it. Coverage is not impressive but on the other hand, this does not feel sticky and very light on the skin.

Overall: I'm not disappointed yet I'm not impressed with this BB cream. This would be preferable for those who doesn't have acne problems and has good skin to begin with. It can use this as a base for my main foundation but not on its own. I would hope they would come up with a wide color range to suit any skin color.

Thoughts?

♥♥♥ MISSHA Fitting Wear Foundation in n. 23 Natural Beige ♥♥♥

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

I've been loving Cushion make up lately because how easy it is to apply for daily use. But I haven't tried a lot of foundation since most of what I have are BB creams. I have that impression that when you use a foundation, you would get that cake-y and unnatural finish on your face which is not the look that I'm aiming for.

Since I want to test different foundations for reviews, I don't want to spend that much on something that I may not like since most of what I've been reviewing is purchased by my own money.

I've been loving the Missha Cushion make up that I reviewed recently and I think the Perfect Cover BB cream is one of the best BB creams in the market so why not try their foundation.

Information
Brand: MISSHA
Product Name: The Style Fitting Wear Foundation SPF 30/PA++
Color: No. 23 Natural Beige
Claims: Wrinkle Care + Whitening + UV Blocking Cosmetic

It comes in a glass container which makes the product seems luxurious. You can actually see the product so you won't have to worry and think about it running out.

It comes with a pump which makes the it hygienic. You don't need to dip your fingers on the product which might contaminate the foundation.

I love how Missha translates the information about the product in English. You would be able to see the ingredients so you would know if you could be allergic to this or not. Also on top of this, Missha indicates that they are against animal testing which hopefully more korean cosmetics would do so.

The actual product is a bit watery and really easy to blend. The pump works perfectly on managing how much product to use. It has slight floral scent which fades after a couple of minutes. If you are uncomfortable on scented foundation, you may want to skip this but I don't really mind the scent.

It does blends well on the skin but I noticed that it would accentuate dry patches. I would suggest moisturizing first before application. The color suits me well despite most Korean face make up tends to be too light on my skin. It has a brightening effect and has a medium coverage. It does evens out my skin tone but it does not cover my acne so you would need a concealer for more coverage. It has a semi-dewy finish which is very popular among Asian brands.

Overall: I would recommend this product for daily use. I liked how it blends on the skin and how it matches perfectly on my skin color. This did not break me out which is not a surprise since my skin is not sensitive at all. But if you are going to an occasion where you need more coverage, I would skip this since it also has SPF which leaves a white cast from flash photography.

Any base make up recommendations from an Asian Brand that you love?

««« ETUDE HOUSE Dear Darling Tint in #1 Berry Red »»»

Oh Hello Blog-O-World!

Gosh! We just started the Ber-months and I'm really awed on how time fly really fast. I think I need to start listing down gifts for my family and friends and also create a budget for my Christmas spending so that I won't overspend.

I think I'm about to get over my lip tint craze since I've been seeing a lot of matte lip product reviews all over the internet. And since Halloween is coming (I love Halloween), I prefer wearing deep dark and a bit of purple lipsticks. But regardless of that, I'm still loving the Etude House Dear Darling Tint in #1.

*source: google images
Information
Brand: ETUDE HOUSE
Product Name: Dear Darling Tint
Color: #1 Berry Red
Price: 200-300ish php

As usual, Etude House never disappoint us when it comes to proper packaging. It's in a lip gloss-type of packaging and I love the fact that you can see the product so you would know if you are about to run out. Also, I did not notice any leaking which is perfect to bring all around on your bag.

Consistency wise, it has a jelly texture on the tube but watery once applied on your lips. If you are not a fan of sticky tints, I don't think this would work for you. But for me, it is fine because a bit of stickiness is moisturizing on your lips.

This is not the most long lasting lip tints. It wears off in about 2 hours with a lot of coffee and water drinking activities. I like how you can have a subtle look to more opaque and daring look by just how you apply the tint.

Overall: I would highly recommend this product for those who want to try an inexpensive lip tint. If you are a lip tint hoarder, you may not like this but this is worth a try. I would definitely repurchase this if aI ran out and I'm curious to try the #4 Vampire red color that they have. Hopefully Etude House does not discontinue this.
